Dear Neighbor,
My name is Darryl Black, and I want to earn your vote as candidate for Cary
Town Council, At-Large. As a North Carolina native and a Cary resident, I
have seen Cary double in size over the past ten years. I am running because I want to preserve
our quality of life here in Cary. I would like to take this opportunity to share with you
my objectives and qualifications
concerning Balanced Leadership and the reasons why I want to serve Cary, the Technology
Town of North Carolina.
New Announcement! We're have a meeting and fund-raiser from 6 to 8 pm this Wednesday,
October 3 at the VFW Building 522-B Reedy Creek Road in Cary. We're also having an election
results celebration from 7 to 9 pm Tuesday, October 9 at the same location. Light refreshments will be served.
For more information, call us at 481-9074.
My goals and objective center around three core issues:
Planning Regionally for Transportation and Environment
~ I support a regional Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) to address
regional transportation ills and air quality issues that threaten needed federal
funding dollars.
Preserving Cary’s Financial Future
~ I support an immediate thirty-percent tax reduction in transportation
impact fees due to an updated land-use plan.
~ I support protecting Cary taxpayer’s pockets by signing a tax pledge that states
that I will not raise property taxes during my term of office.
Protecting Small Businesses and Citizens Through “Sensible” Regulation
~ I support laws that are reasonable and that do not impose unreasonable
burdens on our small businesses and citizens.
~ I do not support the forced annexation of Medfield since many homeowners may have to
give up their homes due to impact fees approaching $20,000.
