The October 1998 issue of Southern Living Magazine presents a feature article about Barrett Kays & Associates, P.A. The article highlights four outstanding environmental projects of BKA including:

(1) the ecological restoration and re-engineering of Great Lawn and Belvedere Lake, Central Park, New York, New York considered to be the largest urban ecological restoration project in the world, (2) the ecological development and infrastructure engineering for North Carolina Arboretum of the University of North Carolina, Asheville, one of the largest new "ecoparks" in the United States, (3) the long term preservation of the world renown Blackwood Division of Duke University's Research Forest, and (4) the ecological restoration of Lake Raleigh, Centennial Campus, North Carolina State University, Raleigh, the centerpiece of the largest university research park in the United States.
